Introduced by Rep. Rick Jones (R) on May 5, 2009, to require the Department of Community Health to develop a diabetes medical management plan for school settings, and diabetes training guidelines for certain school employees.

It's about time!! My child got accused repeatedly of "having a pager" (insulin pump) and "faking being sick" when he needed to leave the classroom to test his blood sugar......and this was after the school nurse had repeatedly informed the teacher of his condition. However, I don't think DCH needs to hire a bunch more staff people to write the curriculum and do the training. They already have specialists there that can handle the task.
