Introduced by Rep. Joel Sheltrown (D) on April 2, 2009, to impose state regulation on the terms of commercial relationships between recreational vehicle manufacturers, wholesalers, warrantors, and dealers. The terms of these relationships are currently voluntary and are the product of negotiations and contractual agreements between the parties. The bill would authorize the state to enforce certain exclusive dealer “territories” and other commercial relationships, in a manner similar to regulations which apply under current law to new car dealers and manufacturers.
Referred to the House Natural Resources, Tourism, and Outdoor Recreation Committee on April 2, 2009.
Reported in the House on April 21, 2009, without amendment and with the recommendation that the bill pass.
