Introduced by Rep. Rick Jones (R) on April 2, 2009, to give law enforcement agencies direct access to the Michigan automated prescription system that tracks prescriptions being filled for controlled substances, notwithstanding any practitioner-patient privilege. This electronic system includes patient identifiers, the name of the drug dispensed, the date, quantity, prescriber, and pharmacy.
