Introduced by Rep. Tim Melton (D) on March 31, 2009, to revise a law that prohibits teachers unions from bargaining to get a school district to agree to not privatize noninstructional support services including bus, custodial, or food services, even if doing so would save the district money. The bill would establish that the union can bargain for unionized school employees to be given a chance to bid on any privatized service.

Don't revise it. Don't touch it! Keep it banned !!! Why are you even thinking of changing this? Could it be that the MEA continues to line the pockets?

The teachers contracts have nothing (and should continue to have nothing) to so with the business of the district. They teach. Thats what they do. How about the keep it that way.
