

I think it is a good idea. The circulating nurse needs to be there in the best interest for the patient. What if something goes wrong? I think the client always needs to have an advocate.

Of course you need a circulating room nurse present. I think it is important to introduce this legislation because of the recent trend of free standing clinics performing more and more surgeries. It may be standard practice in a hospital to have a circulating nurse, but we cannot assume that these clinics operate (sorry for the pun) under the same standards unless it is in fact mandatory.
