I'm interested in the status of HOUSE BILL No. 4605 introduced March 17, 2009.  Do you have any news regarding this sales tax bill?

Personally I've paid about $1000 in sales tax on auto rebates alone within the last three years.  Nevertheless, I'm appreciative of the rebates and appreciate the offers with each car rebate averaging around $8000.  The sales tax on the lease vehicle turns a $0 down offer essentially into a sales tax down offer as rebate tax is paid up front.   I'll be paying several more months on the 2011 Malibu lease before I match the amount already paid in sales tax.

Thank you for your time and consideration regarding this bill.  I look forward to hearing your response.

It's about time someone did this. The state is collecting sales tax on money that wasn't collected on artificially high priced items. The manufacturer or retailer knew thet would never get the high price for the item, but no one told the State they couldn't collect sales tax on it.
