They privatized the kitchen in my district with a  private contractor and laid off union members, now it cost the district 250,000 more a year for food service. The board will never admit a mistake, so where is the saving exactly ? PA 112 is very flawed, as is board members that do not research they`re vote.

As Lansing cuts revenues for school districts it is imperative that they be allowed to cut their expenses whereever they locally see the ability to do so.  If privatization of a service can save a classroom then the local school boards need to have the option to make that decision WITHOUT Lansing intervention either by limiting where they cut ('..10% savings..') or by increasing the cost of the person doing the privatized service.

Perhaps if Lansing was funding the increased cost but we all know that will never happen.  Stop trying to placate the special interst groups and do some real work.  If you dont have any real work to do perhaps it is time for a part time legislature.
