Introduced by Rep. Robert Jones (D) on February 18, 2009, to elderly to require hospitals to inform elderly persons about and provide them with the pneumonia vaccine if there is no vaccine shortage and if the person has been admitted to the hospital for at least 24 hours and wants the vaccine.
Referred to the Senate Health Policy Committee on February 18, 2009.

I think this is a good idea. We need to educate first and foremost and by informing older patients about the availabilty of the vaccine, more of them would probably opt to take it. This would cut down on future hospitalizations.
