Introduced by Rep. Mark Meadows (D) on February 17, 2009, to require a court to appoint a defense attorney for a juvenile accused of a criminal offense. Current law provides certain exceptions to this requirement, and these would be eliminated.
Referred to the House Judiciary Committee on February 17, 2009.
Reported in the House on January 20, 2010, with the recommendation that the substitute (H-3) be adopted and that the bill then pass.
