Our children's diet and health should always start and be primarily supported at home; however, with the rise in childhood obesity, schools must take a proactive approach. Yes, the education should be done by a dietician/RN/nutritionist who is knowledgable in diet and health requirements of kids in grades 3-12 (Food Pyramid Guide and Healthy People 2010); and schools should support this effort with healthy food choices in the cafeteria.
