2) I Would Rather See by Anonymous Citizen on April 24, 2008 some competition in the schools. Do away with the unions. Fire the bad teachers and give the good ones a raise. We spend way more than is necessary today, why do we need to throw more of our hard earned money down the black hole of government schools? The budgets should be cut, not increased. You guys keep asking for more money and we give it expecting different results. Never happens. I think there is something that has been written about doing the same thing and expecting different results being the definition of insanity....Today it's the definition of public school. Reply

Is this a proposal to "throw more money at teachers unions?"
Explain fully, please.
I'd rather see this money allocated to the general support of schools in Michigan rather than earmarked for this special and narrow purpose. Not every district -- not every student body -- across the state has the same needs.
