Rick Jones (R) on November 19, 2008, to allow any person who was under age 17 when he or she violated an offense that requires being in the state sex offenders registry to petition a court for an exemption, and also eliminate certain deadlines on making the petition. Current law only allows the petition for certain violations committed by a minor.
