Introduced by Rep. John Garfield (R) on November 19, 2008, to eliminate the authority of the Secretary of State to enter into an agreement with federal agencies to create an enhanced driver license or state identification card that can be used as proof of identity and citizenship for entering the United States at land and sea ports. This would mean that the legislature must specifically authorize and approve any such action.
Referred to the House Transportation Committee on November 19, 2008.
