Introduced by Rep. Referred to the House Tax Policy Committee on September 24, 2008.
1) That's a Good Start by Anonymous Citizen on October 3, 2008 That's a good start. Allowing a citizen who has worked hard and sacrificed much to buy and acquire property to keep their money is right and just. It's my money and my property and I'm tired of having the rights of both constantly stolen from me. My property demands almost nothing in services from the state yet I am forced through outrageous property taxes to pay for the ever increasing demands and services needed by others? Why don't the people who feel these services are so necessary pay for them? You want a program supported you pay for it. Quit stealing my money and my property rights from me to finance and promote the socialistic programs and philosophies you want. Why am I constantly punished for being a property owner in this state?
Don't stop at $1700, make it truly fair to low income property owners. In fact raise the amount of relief to equate a fair percentage of the property owner's income. Not everyone who owns property is wealthy. I am a property owner and I am not even close to being wealthy. And the outrageous property taxes I pay in this state do absolutely nothing to benefit my welfare; in fact they keep me in a perpetual state of eking out a living.
I demand my money and my property rights stay mine: they do not belong to the majority, the voters, the legislature and not the state... they belong to ME! Reply
