Introduced by Rep. Andy Meisner (D) on September 17, 2008, to allow casino gambling at horse race tracks. The bill establishes license fees and gambling taxes for this. See also House Joint Resolution MMM, which contains a formula for dividing up that tax revenue among various levels of government, and using some to increase the homestead property tax credits, college scholarships, etc.

To help the overall economy of the state of Michigan this type of legislation will go a long way. A look back in the history of the racing industry, employment will get a big boost with this type of activity.
