Introduced by Rep. Kate Ebli (D) on July 23, 2008, to prohibit employers from firing a citizen for the purpose of replacing him or her with an illegal alien. The bill would authorize lawsuits for damages filed by the fired employee. An employer would be exempt who checked the prospective employee’s employment eligibility against a federal database.
Referred to the House Oversight And Investigations Committee on July 23, 2008.
1) Why not by Anonymous Citizen on July 29, 2008 Why not just make the employer pay the same rate of pay to the replacement. That would make as much sense and hopefully make the employer look to a citizen as a replacement.
This just sounds like another help the poor lawyers fill the courts up with more lawsuits scheme. Reply
