Introduced by Rep. Kathy Angerer (D) on July 23, 2008, to impose a $1,000 civil fine on employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens, and up to $5,000 for second or subsequent violations. An employer would be exempt who requested, received and documented employment eligibility documents from a prospective employee, or who checked the individual against a federal database.

Lets put some serious fines on these unpatriotic greedy "business owners". And why civil? I'd like to see criminal! Any business that purposely adds to the economic disaster that is employment in Michigan deserves a "perp-walk"!
