2008 House Bill 5930 (Replace certain welfare services with vouchers )

Introduced by Rep. Fulton Sheen (R) on March 20, 2008, to require all welfare services relating to appointed attorneys, psychologists, psychiatrists, or counseling to be provided by a voucher system in which welfare recipients would be given a voucher for these services and could choose their own provider. Providers could place their name on a list that would be given to voucher recipients. Current state contracts with these providers would be canceled.

you might just be surprised. given a choice between seeing a 'real doctor' or a para-professional in an understaffed clinic, even they would choose the real doctor. are you trying to say that those on welfare should just sit down, shut up and take whatever medical treatment we give them? or should they, too, have a choice in their healthcare?
