Introduced by Rep. Edward Gaffney (R) on March 12, 2008, to exempt individuals age 62 or older from the “driver responsibility fees” (“bad driver fees”) that are assessed for various violations. These very expensive fees were originally adopted in 2003to raise revenue so as avoid spending cuts in that year’s and subsequent state government budgets.
Referred to the House Transportation Committee on March 12, 2008.

2) No Way!!! [by Anonymous Citizen on March 22, 2008] these old drivers are a menace. Drive around on the first Tuesday of the month. It is shocking. The police also seem to always let them off from "infractions" due to their age. I feel all drivers once they live off the government dole should have to take a driving test. What, old people can't pay? What about low income people who could work if they had a license???
Please comment representative Gaffney
3) You Have Got To Be [by Anonymous Citizen on March 17, 2008] S^%$&&(#*&ing me. You admit that these draconian "fees" are hurting old people but want to keep the extortion going on the rest of us.
You need to go.
