• Introduced by Rep. Edward Gaffney (R) on February 14, 2008, to impose a $7.50 per ton tipping fee (tax) on solid waste deposited in Michigan landfills, and use the money to pay for general state spending. The tax would not apply to waste from the same county where the landfill is located, or a contiguous county.
