Introduced by Sen. Gerald Van Woerkom (R) on May 10, 2007, to eliminate the requirement that the governor make appointments to agricultural commodity marketing boards, which expend assessments levied on growers. Instead, they would be made by the director of Department of Agriculture (who is hired and can be fired by the governor).
Referred to the Senate Agriculture and Bioeconomy Committee on May 10, 2007.
1) Eliminate the Agricultural Commodity Board by Mike Hignite on May 29, 2007 is a better idea. Reply
