Introduced by Sen. Martha G. Scott on January 24, 2007, to require health insurance policies and HMO contracts that contain prescription drug coverage to cover contraceptives under the same terms, co-pays, etc. as other covered prescription drugs.

I support this legislation. I think that the alternatives of unwanted pregnancy, the expense of raising a child that wasn't planned for, and allowing the individual to spend their earned benefit in a way that would benefit them the most.

those are choices made by an individual and not the responsibility of insurance companies, which will impact their costs and therefore our costs
