1) Re: Food Stamps by Anonymous Citizen on April 6, 2007 I live on $643.00 month, and my food stamps were just cut down to $10.00 month. My income is from SSI and forced early retirement S.S. Tell me--What will 10.00 month buy?? I have other monthly costs besides rent & phone. Who pays for my car insurance, over-counter meds, life insurance, household & personal needs, clothing, etc, etc. I guess if I save the $10.00 per month for 6 months--then I can go buy half a month of food!!! According to the Food Stamp calculator--I should get $153 month. What a joke--Penalize the poor & disabled as much as possible. Reply
