Introduced by Rep. Doug Bennett (D) on November 8, 2007, to increase from $500 to $1,750 the preliminary plat review fees a developer is required to pay to the Department of Environmental Quality, and increase other fees paid to local health departments. The fees would also be indexed to inflation. The Department of Environmental Quality is seeking $13 million in increased fees on businesses and individuals to avoid spending cuts in its 2008 budget, or allowing some programs to revert to the federal government. See also House Bill 5450 and 5452.
Referred to the House Appropriations Committee on November 8, 2007.
1) I've started three by Anonymous Citizen on November 14, 2007 businesses in Michigan that currently employ about 100 people total. I will never invest another dime in this state because of the BS one must go through with the DEQ and local health departments. It's just crazy. Reply
2) Quit Stealing Our Money by Anonymous Citizen on November 13, 2007 All taxes, fees or whatever you call the latest scam come from the final user. Better hope the government indoctrinated sheeple never get wise or you're done. Maybe it's time for you guys to get real jobs in the real world. Reply
3) Fee = Pass Thru Tax by Anonymous Citizen on November 13, 2007 Your government school graduate voter base will never know it, but the people who work for a living understand that a fee is a pass through tax. It will not be long untill all the working people revolt or leave the state. Reply
