Steve Bieda (D) on October 18, 2007, to allow insurance companies to claim tax credits authorized for other kinds of businesses under the new Michigan Business Tax (MBT) (and the old Single Business Tax) for contributions to Michigan public broadcasting stations, colleges and universities, libraries, and a certain housing and social welfare subsidy program run by the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA).
