Bettie Scott (D) on October 18, 2007, to prohibit the provider of gas or electric service to a residence from shutting off a customer’s service for not paying his or her bills if the person demonstrates the presence of a serious illness requiring the person to have electric or gas service. The bill would mandate a 30 day service extension.
