Introduced by Rep. LaMar Lemmons, Jr. (D) on September 12, 2007, to prohibit replacing or supplementing the motor fuel tax with a tax that is levied on the basis of the amount of miles driven in Michigan. The bill relates to speculation that cars could be equipped with devices that monitor the number of miles driven and where, and then taxed accordingly.
