Introduced by Rep. Shanelle Jackson (D) on August 8, 2007, to limit the purchase by school employees of “service credits” that allow them to retire with a full pension up to five years earlier than the usual requirement (30 years of service or upon reaching age 60), by requiring the employee to have actually put in 10 years on the job. This would apply only to new employees hired after 2007.
Referred to the House Education Committee on August 8, 2007.
