This inane proposal would effectively allow the federal government to set all environmental standards -- in direct contradiction to the Founder's fundamental belief that state's should be laboratories of Democracy.

While there are at times clear reasons for the federal government to require states to follow its guidelines, for a state to voluntarily tie its own hands is ridiculous. There can be no motive for a bill like this other than minimization of environmental protection in any circumstances.

The State of Michigan should be able to enact any environmental protections that are needed in this State regardless of what the Federal Government does or does not do.
Federal guidelines for Environmental Protection are the bare minimum that needs to be followed. Just something for the States to build upon.
Michigan should strive to be a leader in Environmental protection. Especially now, since tourism is a primary industry here.
Our water needs to be protected at all costs.

to youth, and it suggests that they are doing things to help the environent. Then they dump all that CRAP in LAKE MICHIGAN. It's like advertising for alcohol or cigarettes that appeal to youth. lol Anyone who watches the news knows that BP of Indiana is not exactly a friend to the environment.

are cleaner than they have been in a hundred years. The air is cleaner than it's been in years and we have more people, cars, trucks and boats. The sky is not falling. I wondered what we the EPA DOES exactly. Having state regulations MORE stringent that FEDERAL levels is the ONLY way the US is going to combat global warming. That is unless you WANT to be UNDER water? I do NOT support this bill.
