Introduced by Rep. Tim Melton (D) on June 6, 2007, to exempt federal fuel tax from the state sales tax. Under current law, sales tax is not charged on the state motor fuel tax (19-cents for gasoline, 15-cents for diesel), but is levied on the federal tax.
Referred to the House Tax Policy Committee on June 6, 2007.
