Introduced by Rep. Bettie Scott (D) on March 8, 2007, to authorize the issuance of up to 60 temporary beer and wine licenses for nonprofit “arts and cultural” events. The licenses would cost $300, and would entitle to holder to have up to 24 two-day events that were deemed by the Liquor Control Commission to be artistic in nature, and are held on the premises of a recognized and eligible nonprofit client of the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs.
