  • Introduced by Rep. Hoon-Yung Hopgood on March 1, 2007, to repeal a sales tax exemption on the sale of trucks, trailers and parts purchased by a trucking company and used in interstate commerce at least 10 percent of the time. This is one of a number of “tax expenditure repeal” proposals included in Gov. Jennifer Granholm’s Fiscal Year 2007-2008 budget recommendation, which is based on approximately $1 billion in tax increases. Together with House Bill 4379 it would increase the taxes paid by trucking companies by approximately $16 million.
    • Referred to the House Tax Policy Committee on March 1, 2007.
