Introduced by Rep. Paul Condino (D) on February 7, 2007, to index for inflation the wage level under which it is unlawful to pay to pay the wait staff in a restaurant or other employees who receive gratuities (tips) in the course of their employment, notwithstanding any voluntary agreement between the employer and employee. Under current law this minimum wage is $2.65 per hour.
Referred to the House Labor Committee on February 7, 2007.

2) Get Real by Anonymous Citizen on February 13, 2007 I propose we raise the minimum wage for all employees, AND index to inflation. It's ludicrous to pay tipped employees half the "minimum" wage. These are some of the hardest working people out there.(And no I do not work in a restaurant.) I was making more than $2.65 an hour at a gas station in 1972. Reply
