Introduced by Rep. Lorence Wenke (R) on February 1, 2007, to prohibit public schools from using public funds to reward students for attending school on the day on which official pupil counts are taken for purposes of determining how much state funding the school gets.

It's time for teachers and their union to check their agendas at the door and do what they are paid for and that is to teach. Reply

However, when funding is held over the school's head based on kids being in school, it can't hurt to let people know the day it is going to be counted "officially". It is important to be in school for educations sake-- but for funding sake, we need to count all the students at a school!! Reply
