why shouldn't prisoners pay taxes to help with their upkeep?

isn't that part of the payment of thier debt to society???

4) so, you have a [by Anonymous Citizen on March 10, 2007]
problem with prisoners paying taxes???

you have NO problem with everyone ELSE paying taxes, why should prisoners get a 'special tax break'?

THEY owe the most to society, as they have violated the 'contract with society', and gotten themselves thrown in jail at our expense.

it's only fitting and proper that they should pay for their incarceration, as well as make total restitution to the victims of their crimes.

while they are at it, they should have to work a garden to grow some of the food that they consume.

5) sales tax on prision store? [by Anonymous Citizen on January 25, 2007]
They have no rights now,so why not tax what is already taxed on the lowest, the state is so desprate for money, that going after those who we consider throw-aways seems fair. They can afford it, with all their so called privliges and free ride to Hell and supporting 1/3 of the state budget for state workers.
