Introduced by Rep. Gary McDowell (D) on September 20, 2006, to authorize state grants to repay the interest on student loans for a resident who earn a bachelors degree in a state university in one of several specified technology programs. The bill would establish a state fund from which the grants would be paid, and specify that the grants would be pro-rated across eligible recipients based on how much is in the fund. The bill does not appropriate any money for the proposed program.
Referred to the House Higher Education Committee on September 20, 2006.
