Introduced by Rep. Phil Pavlov (R) on September 14, 2006, to require a school district that alleges that school employees are on strike to immediately notify the employment relations commission, and if it does not, to authorize the parent of a student to make the notification. This notification "starts the clock" on certain enforcement actions that under current law must begin within 60 days, but the bill would change to seven days. Strikes by school employees are illegal.
Referred to the House Education Committee on September 14, 2006.
Reported in the House on December 6, 2006, with the recommendation that the substitute (H-1) be adopted and that the bill then pass.
Substitute offered in the House on December 7, 2006. The substitute passed in the House by voice vote on December 7, 2006.
