Introduced by Rep. Scott Hummel (R) on April 19, 2006, to define in the state’s hunting law a muzzle loading firearm as a firearm designed to use black powder or a black powder substitute and which cannot use fixed ammunition, whether or not it is loaded at the muzzle.
Referred to the House Conservation, Forestry, and Outdoor Recreation Committee on April 19, 2006.
1) i would say that our by Anonymous Citizen on January 8, 2007 second amendment rights have been pretty well abrogated by state law here in michigan. a quick review of the laws in question show that it is NOT legal for a person wishing to purchase a weapon to do so without PERMISSION from the state, once this permission is given, the purchaser has only DAYS to get the weapon, and return it to the state to be registered.
an owner of a weapon CANNOT carry that weapon in his car to defend himself on the road without a CONCEALED WEAPON PERMIT, costing over $150.00.
either this law is NEVER intended to be used against criminals, as we NEVER hear of it's use in arrests, or it's TRUE INTENT was to facilitate the disarmament of the citizenry.
even civil matters can take away your gun rights. a nasty divorce, rife with untruths, can result in guns being confiscated and NEVER RETURNED. all a vindictive spouse has to do is say that she was threatened (whether she was or not) and the the other spouse's gun rights are at that point null and void with no apparent recourse. 2) with our exteemed by Anonymous Citizen on January 8, 2007 representative, john conyers, a long time opponent of gun rights heading the judiciary committee, it's probable that our gun rights on the national scene will soon diminish considerably.
so much for the myth that michiganders are pro gun. Reply
3) the city of san francisco by Anonymous Citizen on January 8, 2007 has recently passed an ordinance banning the ownership, use, possession, of any type of firearm or similar instrumentality AT ALL.
this law is patently unconstitutional, but the city did it anyway.
do they not KNOW what is in their state AND federal constitution, or do they NOT CARE?
what is to stop the lads and lasses in lansing from doing exactly the same thing???
