1) Because we are so rich by Anonymous Citizen on September 26, 2005 I' surprised at how insensitive this is. Counselors do not and probaby never will earn what they are worth. Like teachers, social workers and nurses, it's a helping profession with intrinsic rewards and, frankly, requires sacrifice.
That said, I have to wonder why this kind of raised fee couldn't have gone to attorneys, realtors, or, better yet, funeral home owners. They all make more than they are worth most of the time.
Counselors didn't notice this and, perhaps, you thought you were showing that you could be tough to balance the budget. What in the hell made you choose counselors?
