Introduced by Sen. Virg Bernero (D) on May 26, 2005, and disclosures to require municipal and other water suppliers to perform testing for the presence of lead or copper in the water, and establish standards for the testing. Also, to require a supplier to notify households that it knows to be served by a lead water service line. The bill was introduced after news reports were published indicating that a number of older houses served by the Lansing Board of Water and Light have lead service pipes, and that residents of these houses should flush their pipes daily before drinking the water.
Referred to the Senate Technology and Energy Committee on May 26, 2005.
1) I don't think it was always like this, taxes not as necessary by Anonymous Citizen on May 28, 2006 We LET THE JAPANESE COME OVER AND TAKE PICTURES OF OUR PROCESSES in some parts of industry. I wonder how many of us did it. How many companies would stand up and say, "GUILTY!" WE ignored quality control in many areas and they built more relieable vehicles with quality control. With global warming people want a CLEANER car. With gas prices people want a more efficient car. China will work for less. For them it's an upgrade in lifestyle, I suppose. If you live in another state not as dependent on manufacturing, then you're saving money buying Chinese manufactured goods at Walmart. If you're a Michigander, then these changes are affecting you financially. I really don't blame the governor. I'm realistic about the choices that have been made over the last few decades. The results are cuts, taxes, fees. Sorry. I don't think we're doomed. I think there are things we can do to get aroud these roadblocks. Water is more essential to life than oil even. Keep it clean. Think longterm. Have priorities. We'll be ok. We can turn this around. I suppose without that background of "the way it was" you might wonder about us.:) Reply
2) fingers crossed... by crazycajun on May 28, 2006 you are right,
