Introduced by Sen. Michelle McManus (R) on April 13, 2005, to eliminate county concealed weapon licensing boards, and transfer the responsibility for issuing concealed pistol license (CPL) licenses to the Secretary of State.

It says it was referred to the commitee on the judiciary. Why's it just sitting there?

i think having the secretary of state handle the mundane day to day work of supplying concealed carry permits is a good idea...

anything that LOWERS the cost of obtaining a permit so that the average citizen can afford one is okay by me...

one question...

why is it that I can drive a car for a year with minimal 'no fault' insurance, but i must get a special type of insurance if i carry a gun?

i'm much more likely to get into a fender bender than i am to use deadly force...
