Introduced by Sen. Deborah Cherry (D) on February 22, 2005, to require a college student who leaves school to return any unused Michigan merit scholarship award money to the state. The $2,500 merit scholarship awards are made to students who do well on the state high school assessment test.

How much does the think is going to be left perhaps she needs a lesson in economics or perhaps she has no clue that these kids actually earned this money. And if they signed up for classes and went to school even if they withdraw the merit awards money is for them to spens any way the need be it a car to get to school, books, clothes, what ever and I am wondering if she realizes once you give kids money the chances of any being "left over" is a pipe dream. this bill is just another of this woman'w waste of the tax payers dollars and the other legislators time.
