Introduced by Rep. Barb Vander Veen (R) on February 15, 2005, to establish that when a pupil transfers from one school district to another after the official state pupil count day, the former district must pay to the new district a pro-rated share of the per-pupil state school aid grant for that student. Under current law, this requirement only applies to students who transfer to the Detroit School District, or from one of just three school districts that the receiving district has previously designated.
Referred to the House Education Committee on February 15, 2005.
