  • Introduced by Sen. Jud Gilbert on February 4, 2004, to define as an authorized emergency vehicle a tow truck or wrecker which is assisting at the scene of an accident at the request of a police agency. which is exempt from certain traffic laws under certain circumstances. An “authorized emergency vehicle” is exempt from certain traffic laws under certain circumstances, and if it has activated flashing, rotating, or oscillating red or blue lights, then drivers are required to move over one lane in the same way that is now required for police vehicles on the shoulder of the road with lights flashing.
