This legislation is extremely important. The American Academy of Pediatrics just published a new policy statement strongly recommending government policies be altered in order to encourage and support breastfeeding.

Currently, Michigan has no such protection for breastfeeding mothers, or even for parents who care for their children full-time at home, even if they have no other options for childcare.

We need quick and successful action on this bill!

Thank you to the family-friendly Senators who have introduced it!

My friend pointed out that the breastfeeding mother should be exempt only if she wants to. That breastfeeding should not disinfranchise her. PB
