- Introduced by Sen. Valde Garcia (R) on June 22, 2004, to eliminate the use tax (sales tax) on the sale of used mobile homes sales beginning in 2011. Under Senate Bill 1311, these would be subject to a transfer tax equal to three percent of the value of the mobile home.

Don't pass SB1310 to begin with!
A bunch of hooey! I had to pay the hefty 6% use tax when I purchased a used car in 1998, 2000, and 2003. I also paid 'transfer fees'--title, registration, license plate, etc. When the taxes on used automobiles are reduced to a 3% transfer fee--that's when it should be levied against used mobile homes also!
