Leon Drolet (R) on July 6, 2004, to revise the composition of the proposed commission to include seven members appointed by the governor, of whom two would be selected by the governor, two recommended by the Senate Majority Leader, two recommended by the Speaker of the House, and one recommended by the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation. The amendment passed by voice vote in the House on July 6, 2004.
1) Rep. Jamnick's "no vote explanation" by Admin003 on July 8, 2004 Rep. Jamnick, having reserved the right to explain her protest against the passage of the bill, made the following statement:
"Mr. Speaker and members of the House:
I voted against both HB 6033 and 6034 not because objection to President Reagan, but I do not think having a fiduciary role is a function of our Sate Government. Efforts such as this belong to us as Michigan individuals, not as a function of our government."
