Introduced by Rep. Howard Walker (R) on May 27, 2004, to establish lower trailer registration tax rates for those age 65 and older. The Michigan trailer registration tax is paid only once, rather than annually, unless the trailer is sold.
Referred to the House Transportation Committee on May 27, 2004.
1) HB5957 by Anonymous Citizen on May 30, 2004 I see no reason why, just because someone is 65 or older, there should be a tax break given. If they can afford to buy this type equipment, they can afford to pay the required tax. Even though I am not a smoker, why are additional taxes put on this product? Leave the trailer tax the way it is and don't raise it on other things. What ever happened to accountability? I don't believe in robbing Peter to pay Paul! Reply
