• Introduced by Sen. Shirley Johnson (R) on January 10, 2001, to revise the distribution of excise taxes collected for the convention facility development fund, including hotel taxes levied in the southeastern Michigan counties to pay Cobo Hall bonds. The bill requires collections over and above the amount needed to service existing bonds to be returned to the counties in which the tax is levied, to be used to promote tourism in those counties.
