2010 Senate Bill 1210

Revise lead hazard abatement law to comply with EPA mandates

Introduced in the Senate

March 4, 2010

Introduced by Sen. Patricia Birkholz (R-24)

To require rules promulgated by the Department of Community Health under the law that mandates and establishes standards for lead paint hazard abatement in residences where children may come in contact, to be at least as “protective” as federal Environment Protection Agency’s rules. Among other things the bills would increase fines. Also, it woulld update definitions, abatement contractor certification requirements and other provisions of the state lead hazard abatement law so as to reflect EPA mandates.
